On Saturday, 06 March 2022 we lost our beloved ESAFF eSwatini board Member Ms. Ncamsile Mavis Sukati. Her death was sudden and shocked us all. We are heartbroken and her loss is deeply felt.

Ms. Sukati joined the Board of ESAFF eSwatini in 2017, we made a new friend who encouraged us to be bold and to be brave in pushing the agenda of smallholder farmers in eSwatini. She would challenge and pushed us to think harder and care harder for the smallholder farmers demands Ms. Sukati was wise, kind and compassionate with an underlying bit of mischievousness that always kept us on our toes. For most of us, we knew that when she spoke, she spoke with the heart of her community and smallholder farmers in mind.

Ms. Sukati’s passing is a great loss not only to the ESAFF eSwatini organisation but the smallholder farmers community and all who worked with her in her long and devoted activism. Her views will be treasured and the organisation will miss her strategic insights and excellent perspectives in the movements.

We are forever grateful for Sukati’s service and commitments on Farmer and her dedication to the organisation mission of influencing smallholder farmer development policies and promoting ecological agriculture.
