Biography: My father owned a large piece of land on which the family grew crops, particularly maize. This allowed me to be exposed to farming much early in my life, and as I grew up I realised that actually farming could be a better way to fighting poverty and put food on the table literally since I had access to land which had fairly good rains. And my proximity to Swaziland’s most populous town meant that accessing the market was going to be easy. Indeed I am able to sustain my family through farming. I have been a member of ESAFF since 2013.

Biography: I was borne into a farming family and leant the rudiments of farming at an early age. We had land and water resources and we used to grow crops for both home consumption and selling. We were also known in our area for chickens, goats and rabbits. I started my own farming exploits in 2004 and have never looked back since. Living on the outskirts of Swaziland’s biggest town Manzini has been a blessing since I have an ever ready market for whatever I grow.

I joined ESAFF in 2013 after noticing that it was promoting indigenous methods of farming and organic farming. I grew us attached to farming particularly raring chickens, a trade that I took from my father who I believe knew everything concerning chickens. Chickens have a ready market in my area and I don’t have to travel long distances to sell.
